Assegaf Hamzah and Partners Wins Most Innovative National Law Firm and High Yield Deal of the Year at IFLR Asia 2018 Awards
Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) has won the coveted title of Most Innovative National Law Firm of the Year 2018 at the prestigious International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Asia Awards 2018. In addition to this national award, AHP clinched the “High Yield Deal of the Year” for its work advising the initial purchasers on a ground-breaking 5.875% senior notes issuance by PT Indika Energy Tbk (“Indika”).
The accolades highlight not only the quality of AHP’s advice, but also our capacity to tackle the region’s most intricate and significant matters. In the winning deal, Indika used the proceeds to fund its acquisition of a stake in PT Kideco Jaya Agung.
In a similar vein, our lawyers have performed key roles in some of the region’s most complex cross-border matters of the past twelve months. Highlights include representing the Star Energy Consortium in its acquisition of Chevron’s geothermal portfolio in Indonesia – the largest operating geothermal portfolio in Asia. We also stood at the forefront, together with our partners at Rajah & Tann Asia, of the pioneering IPO by Sea Limited on the New York Stock Exchange.
Despite the challenges of operating in Asia’s constantly evolving markets, our lawyers are adept at responding to Indonesia’s dynamic regulatory landscape to get the deal through. AHP was also named Indonesia National Law Firm of the Year at Asialaw Asia Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards in 2016 and Chambers Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence in 2014.
We are most grateful to the legal publishers for recognizing our team’s efforts. The IFLR Asia Awards 2018 took place at Shangri-La, Hong Kong, on 1 March 2018.
