Assegaf Hamzah & Partners expands Intellectual Property practice
INDONESIA, 31 May 2018 – Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) is pleased to announce the expansion of its Intellectual Property (IP) practice through a merger with IP boutique firm, Dewi Soeharto Law Partnership (DSLP). The merger will take place on 5 June 2018 and it will pave the way for AHP to become the new IP market leader in Indonesia. With the combined strong resources of AHP’s IP litigation team and DSLP’s IP team, we are confident to deliver an excellent full range of IP legal services to our clients.
AHP is the largest law firm in Indonesia, with approximately 130 lawyers including 22 partners. We are recognised for our Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking, Finance & Projects, Capital Markets, Competition, Dispute Resolution and Telecommunications, Technology and Media practice groups. We hope to continue to deepen our practice in all areas. This merger is a strategic move of our firm to expand and strengthen our IP practice, as we successfully did 5 years ago with our competition practice by teaming up with an elite competition firm.
DSLP is one of the most sought-out boutique law firms in IP practice. The firm was established in 1996 and has focused its practice in IP law since 2007. It provides full IP services, which include: copyrights, trademark, patent, industrial design, layout design of integrated circuit, plant variety protection and trade secret. Its selective practice and high ability to serve clients has made numerous prominent blue-chip companies and social institutions select and continue to use them over the years.
The founder and managing partner of DSLP, Mrs. Dewi Soeharto, will become our partner and the co-head of the IP practice, together with AHP’s co-head, Mr. Chandra Hamzah, a well-respected litigator.
