Jakarta—17 April 2025—Assegaf Hamzah & Partners is pleased to announce the admission of Alvin Ambardy to the firm’s partnership, effective 17 April 2025. This significant milestone recognises Alvin’s exceptional contributions and deep commitment to the firm and its clients.
Alvin joined the firm in 2013 as an associate. Throughout his career in the firm, he has established himself as a highly skilled and trusted advisor in complex domestic and international arbitrations. His extensive experience includes handling cases under the rules of leading arbitral institutions such as SIAC, ICC, UNCITRAL, BANI, and LAPS SJK. Alvin has also further honed his expertise through advanced courses from esteemed organisations like the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the Indonesian Arbitration Board (IARBI).
Beyond his arbitration practice, Alvin provides crucial counsel to clients on insolvency matters, including his significant involvement as counsel in several high-profile PKPU (postponement of debt payment obligation) proceedings. He is also a registered bankruptcy receiver and PKPU administrator, demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of insolvency proceedings.
Alvin’s expertise extends to advising on government contracts, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering compliance. He has played a notable role in the development of key legislative initiatives, including those related to Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) disclosure and reporting requirements for practicing attorneys.

Alvin earned Bachelor of Laws degree from Universitas Indonesia in 2011, and subsequently obtained an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2022.
